Travel Solo, Confidently!

Untitled Design 5 Scaled

It had been way too long since my last solo trip, so I finally did it.

Italy. Rome, Florence, and Venice. Three cities, one confident woman, and zero waiting around for anyone else’s schedule.

As a life coach for single women, I wanted this post to be especially for those of you ladies who want to travel solo, but feel nervous about it…or think it’s something only “brave people” do.

Here’s what I know:

You don’t have to be fearless to travel alone. You just have to decide you’re not going to let fear make your choices anymore. I used to think solo travel would feel lonely. But it’s actually the opposite, it’s freeing. There’s something about being in a new country, eating pizza by yourself, and realizing you’re doing it that builds a kind of confidence you can’t fake.

And honestly? Traveling with friends can be great…until it’s not. I’ve been on trips that left me more stressed than relaxed. Going solo means I don’t have to wait on anyone, explain anything, or compromise on what I want to see or do. If you’ve been craving clarity, self-love, or just a reset, this is it! Traveling solo reminds you who you are and what you’re capable of.

Here are a few tips from my trip (and from a confidence coach who has been single and rolling solo for almost 15 years)

*Don’t call it “traveling alone.” You’re traveling with yourself. There’s a big difference.

  • Start small. A 2–3 day trip is the perfect way to test it out and see how it feels.
  • Use a travel company. Many offer guided group tours that make you feel safe but still independent.
  • Share your itinerary with someone you trust and do check-ins.
  • Fill your days with activities and moments that make you feel alive, not just “busy.”
  • Pack light. Don’t waste time waiting for or risk a lost luggage incident. You have places to be, so pack light and get going
  • And most importantly, go confidently.

If traveling solo isn’t your thing, that’s okay. But still travel. Travel to grow, to see something new, to meet yourself in a different setting.

Because sometimes the version of you you’ve been searching for is waiting in another country, holding a cappuccino and smiling because you finally showed up for her.
