Information we collect

Information you give us

  • Contact form. When you use the form at martyortiz.com/contact/, you give us your name, your email address, and the message you write. All three fields are required. Your submission is stored in our website’s database and emailed to us so we can reply.
  • Email. If you email us directly, we keep your email address, the message, and anything you choose to tell us.
  • Coaching and programs. If you sign up for coaching, the Confident Girl Walks community, or a masterclass, we keep the details you provide for as long as you are a client or participant.
  • Newsletter. If you subscribe to our newsletter, we keep your email address until you unsubscribe. Signups are collected through our Beacons page rather than through this website.

Information collected automatically

  • Server logs. Our hosting provider records standard technical information when your browser requests a page: IP address, browser and device type, the page requested, and the time of the request. These logs are used for site security and troubleshooting.
  • Fonts. Our pages load typefaces from Google’s font servers, which means Google receives your IP address and basic browser information in order to deliver the font files. Google’s own privacy policy applies to that request.
  • Cookies. martyortiz.com does not set cookies, and we do not use analytics, advertising, or tracking pixels. We do not build profiles of visitors and we do not track you across other websites.

Information we do not collect

We never ask for payment card details on martyortiz.com. We do not run advertising. We do not buy or sell personal information.

How we use your information

  • To reply to your message and provide the coaching, community, or program you asked about
  • To send you emails you have asked for, such as newsletter updates
  • To keep the website running, secure, and free of spam (our contact form includes a hidden anti-spam field)
  • To keep records required for legal, tax, or accounting purposes

We do not use your information for automated decision-making or profiling.

Coaching conversations are confidential

Coaching involves personal conversations. What you share with us in a session, an application, or a message is treated as confidential. We do not use the contents of coaching conversations for marketing, and we do not share them with anyone outside the service providers listed below. If you tell us something that suggests you or someone else is in danger, or if we are legally required to disclose it, we may need to act on that — we will tell you first whenever we can.

Who we share information with

We do not sell or rent personal information, and we do not share it for advertising. A small number of service providers process information on our behalf:

  • Namecheap — website hosting and the outgoing mail service that delivers our contact-form notifications.
  • Google — the Google Workspace mailbox (marty@martyortiz.com) where form notifications and your emails arrive, and the Google Fonts service described above.
  • Beacons (beacons.ai) — the platform behind the Confident Girl Community page and shop at martyortizconfidencecoaching.com, which handles newsletter signups, product sales, and payment processing. Payment details are entered on their checkout and are never received by this website.

These providers are only permitted to use your information to provide their service to us. We may also disclose information if the law requires it.

Cookies, links, and leaving this website

martyortiz.com does not set cookies. Some pages link to other platforms — Beacons, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and Google. Once you follow one of those links, that platform’s own privacy policy and cookie practices apply, and we do not control them. If you buy a masterclass or workshop through our Beacons shop, Beacons and its payment processor handle your information under their policies.

How long we keep information

  • Contact form messages and email: for as long as we are in conversation or working together, and then for up to 24 months afterwards.
  • Client records: for the duration of our work together plus any period required for tax and professional records.
  • Newsletter subscribers: until you unsubscribe.
  • Server logs: for a limited period set by our hosting provider.

When information is no longer needed, we delete it.

Your privacy rights

If you live in California, the California Consumer Privacy Act (as amended) gives you the right to:

  • Know what personal information we have collected about you, and request a copy
  • Ask us to delete personal information we hold about you
  • Ask us to correct information that is inaccurate
  • Ask us not to sell or share your personal information — we do not sell or share it, and we never have
  • Limit the use of sensitive personal information — we treat anything sensitive you share with us as confidential
  • Not be discriminated against for exercising any of these rights

Wherever you live, you may contact us to ask for access to, correction of, or deletion of your information, and you may unsubscribe from our emails at any time using the link in any email we send.

To make a request, email marty@martyortiz.com with “Privacy request” in the subject line. We may ask you to verify your identity, for example by replying from the same email address you contacted us from. We aim to respond within 45 days for California requests and within 30 days for requests from the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom. If you are in the EEA or UK, you also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

Children’s privacy

Our website and services are intended for adults. They are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, email us and we will delete it.

How we protect information

We use an encrypted connection (HTTPS) across the site, take standard precautions on our hosting account, and limit access to messages and client information to Marty and the small number of people who help run the site and practice. No method of sending or storing information is completely secure, but we work to protect what you share with us and to tell you promptly if a breach ever affects you.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle personal information, we will update this page and change the “Last updated” date above.
